„We are more connected than ever, we are changing into a mass that is trying to find balance. We pull and push.“

INBETWEEN is a performance that explores group tensions in a shifting environment animated by constant connectivity and instant reactions. The space amid these tensions becomes a collective mass that needs to be constantly remapped.

In this interactive architecture piece, four performers modify a material, which together with the dancers perform a common body. The created spaces and volumes are a result of their negotiations, but also their environment. Their cover, their base, a shared shell, or skin. This temporary space of negotiation reflects the struggles and interactions between the dancers but also of society at large.

INBETWEEN is created by an international female collective – dancer and choreographer Soňa Ferienčíková (SK), digital visual artist Mária Júdová (SK) and sound artist and architect Alexandra Timpau (RO/CZ) that collectively redefines the boundaries of dance through ambitious, cross-disciplinary practice.

Soňa has cooperated with various acclaimed choreographers, theatre directors and companies and performed all over the world. She is the founder of the BOD.Y ngo. Mária has been investigating the creative potential of technology for over a decade. Her work spans from Virtual Reality experiences and (interactive) installations to audio-visual performances. Alexandra studied architecture and urban planning in Romania, and after finishing her studies and moving to Prague she was hypnotized by the practice of live-coding sound.
